Thailand is one of the most biodiverse countries in Southeast Asia, with unique ecosystems, including mountain ranges, natural and modified wetlands and marine and coastal ecosystems, such as mangrove forests and coral reefs.

  • Thailand is in the initial stages of its assessment process under BES-Net II, implemented by Chulalongkorn University. The country receives political support from the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning and technical backstopping from UNEP-WCMC.
  • Thailand is also a priority country for future catalytic support under BES-Net II’s BES Solution Fund to promote the uptake of national ecosystem assessment recommendations once the process is finalized.
