Description

The Donor Relations and Stewardship Manager is a skilled writing professional with a background in writing stewardship pieces, including letters from the President and CEO, and crafting powerful stewardship experiences. This position is instrumental in acknowledging and stewarding The Trust for Public Land’s donors, inspiring them to continue to support our mission and work.
 
Reporting to the Senior Director, Philanthropy Programs, the Donor Relations and Stewardship Manager is responsible for executing a comprehensive acknowledgement and stewardship strategy and program for The Trust for Public Land’s Philanthropy Department. They will create and deliver donor-centric communications and stewardship experiences to facilitate meaningful, lifelong relationships with donors, VIPs, and lead volunteers. The Donor Relations and Stewardship Manager will manage The Trust for Public Land’s donor acknowledgement program and be responsible for custom donor acknowledgments for The Trust for Public Land’s top donors and VIPs across the country, with the opportunity to write and develop content for additional donor relations and engagement material.
 
The Donor Relations and Stewardship manager will coordinate with Philanthropy relationship managers in multiple offices in geographically distinct regions. They will closely partner with The Trust for Public Land’s Philanthropy and Marketing staff, and senior leadership to ensure the successful delivery of cohesive and consistent messaging.
 
Responsibilities: 
The Donor Relations and Stewardship Manager will oversee the acknowledgement and donor inquiries team, produce stewardship experiences, and provide research, writing, content development, and general editorial support for a range of communications:

  • Writes, edits, and coordinates custom acknowledgements for major and principal donors, and all acknowledgements for special initiatives.
  • Writes stewardship communications for the President and CEO, including annual year-end letter and Thanksgiving card.
  • Coordinates with a nationwide network of fundraisers to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of custom acknowledgement letters.
  • In collaboration with relationship managers, develops and creates stewardship gifts and experiences to illustrate the power of donors’ gifts.
  • Oversees annual giving acknowledgements and donor inquiries systems.
  • Manages quarterly refresh of standard acknowledgement template letters.
  • Manages acknowledgement data tracking and coding in donor database.
  • Oversees acknowledgement receipting in coordination with Philanthropy Operations.
  • Monitors donor acknowledgement tracking and engagement markers.
  • Develops and maintains donor acknowledgement training materials for Philanthropy staff.
