ABOUT BES-NET

As a capacity sharing “network of networks”, the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Network (BES-Net) complements the capacity building work of the Intergovernmental Platform for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) and promotes more effective management of biodiversity and ecosystems by enhancing dialogue, interaction and coordination between science, policy, and practice.

BES-Net is managed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), under the Global Policy Center on Resilient Ecosystems and Desertification (GC-RED) based in Nairobi, and supports the UN Environment World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC) in coordinating the National Ecosystem Assessments.
