We’re hiring for a Content Marketing and Digital Strategist. This person will be responsible for writing, editing and producing a variety of marketing and communications materials that tell the stories of our conservation successes and relay the importance and urgency of environmental protection. A major component of this role is creating and implementing a storytelling strategy for digital and print channels. In other words, we’re looking for someone who will to seek out the best stories to tell and share them in ways that inspire people to take action, across all of our channels.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Content Marketing and Digital Strategist oversees and creates content for digital and print platforms. This includes architecting and implementing the chapter’s content strategy; writing and publishing web content on nature.org; thinking through the best ways to tell stories on our various digital channels. Their specific projects may include writing for newsletters and magazines articles, writing content for chapter’s annual report, campaigns to support new product/service launches, collateral for all mediums, educational programs, and communication tools. They serve as an expert resource to the organization’s many departments and play a lead role in crafting communications solutions that meet specific project objectives, while simultaneously strengthening The Nature Conservancy brand. They participate in devising strategies and promotions in collaboration with internal departments to meet specific marketing and philanthropy targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

  • Create and oversee chapter’s editorial content strategy, considering all of chapther’s digital and print marketing and communications channels.
  • Work closely with marketing team members to ensure our projects are aligned with our internal editorial content strategy as well as conservation goals and objectives.
  • Manage the chapter’s website—responsible for writing and publishing new and engaging content for digital audiences.
  • Work with chapter’s conservation staff to strategize and provide expert guidance on the best ways to promote and talk about chapter’s projects in the most compelling, inclusive ways.
  • Responsibility and accountability for meeting assigned project goals and objectives.
  • Resolve issues independently within program area.
  • Opportunity to act independently within program goals.  
  • May work with vendors/other parties to execute projects/deliverables—including videographers and photographers.
