Job Responsibilities

  • Foster and provide a safe space for employees to seek and for HR to provide confidential advice, guidance, and support across the organization regarding a broad range of employee relations issues, performance issues, manager-employee communications, employee engagement, and conflict resolution.
  • Provide support, ideas, and collaboration with EWG’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
  • Oversee, develop, and administer the recruitment, interview, on-boarding and off-boarding processes.
  • Facilitate annual employee performance evaluation process and prepare documentation for all salary adjustments and rate changes.
  • Oversee, develop, and execute comprehensive training and development programs for managers and employees.
  • Administer all benefits enrollment and administration including medical, dental, vision, 403(b) administration, etc.
  • Administer Family Medical Leave (FMLA), DC FMLA, DC Paid Family Leave, and Families First Coronavirus Response Act and other related leave requests, including, determining eligibility, preparing correspondence, monitoring usage, and completing employee disability forms for processing.
  • Perform all required human resources-related government reporting.
  • Process semi-monthly payroll and working with third party payroll vendor to resolve payroll issues and assist employees with Paychex access issues, errors, and related problems.
  • Manage EWG’s growing Internship programs.
  • Maintain knowledge and ensuring compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Maintain and conduct various compliance and document requirements that may include detailed employee files, audits of payroll, leaves of absence, benefits, and HR programs with recommendations for corrective action.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
