Description

EFI is seeking two Junior Researchers to join its Resilience Programme, to conduct a global research and capacity-building project related to the future of employment and green jobs in the forest sector, in close collaboration with the International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA) and the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO). Key responsibilities will include:  Support and conduct empirical social research relating to employment and green jobs in the global forest sector.  Organize expert workshops and expert group meetings.  Conduct communication activities and engage at the science-policy-practice interface.  Oversee and coordinate a student traineeship programme.  Facilitate global networking and capacity building among forestry students and young professionals.  Publish academic, policy and practice oriented reports. Qualifications:  MSc in Forest Science or related subject.  Experience with empirical social science research is an asset.  Experience with organizing events (workshops etc.) is an asset.  Interest and ability to engage in networking and communication activities.  Excellent spoken and written skills in English are essential. Knowledge of additional languages is an asset.  Experience with international student networking is a strong asset.  Work experience in other international (forest) organizations is an asset
