The Sr. Direct Mail Manager contributes to The Trust for Public Land through the increase of unrestricted net revenue for the organization through the management and continuous improvement of direct mail efforts to acquire, renew, and upgrade annual fund donors, defined as donors generally giving under $2,000 annually.
The position is responsible for overseeing and monitoring each campaign to ensure it meets its objectives including response rates, revenue goals and mail dates. The Sr. Direct Mail Manager is a member of the Annual Giving team and reports to the Director of Annual Giving.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the operational management of TPL’s direct mail program – including the direct mail budget, program expenses and interacting with and guiding vendors who implement the program’s efforts.
- Is point lead for all production related to the direct mail program including proofs, set-ups and art.
- Directs agency partner(s) to implement a sound and robust testing strategy.
- Works closely with direct response agency partner to drive re-solicitation and upgrade strategies.
- Collaborates with the Associate Director of Online fundraising to ensure cross channel fundraising strategies are in place.
- Works with Marketing to ensure TPL’s brand is consistent across all direct mail campaigns.
- Coordinates closely with program staff throughout the country to ensure direct mail copy is fact checked.
- Works with the Marketing Department and/or direct response fundraising agency to create and manage direct mail collateral.
- Works closely with state and regional philanthropy teams and marketing on acquiring new information/themes for campaigns.
