Description

The Global Fleet Manager is a newly created position within the Purchasing, Contracts, and Supply Management Office of Finance and Administration.  The Global Fleet Manager works directly with the Director of Procurement, Legal, Corporate Insurance and other appropriate Finance staff, and the respective Business Units personnel responsible for fleet management to develop a program that including the planning, purchasing, management and maintenance/service of the organization’s designated fleet of vehicles, boats, ATVs, drones, and other assets deemed essential to be effectively managed under the program.  In performing the duties, the individual needs to be able to work independently, communicate effectively, lead a project team, and be able to work on multiple tasks and have excellent organizational skills.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE

  • Act independently within broad program goals to prioritize tasks in the absence of specific instructions and exercise independent judgment to identify and solve problems.
  • Decisions may bind the organization financially or legally.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential information.
  • Does not supervise any staff but may manage work of peers on departmental project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with TNC policies and procedures, and external country applicable laws and regulations.
  • Financial responsibility includes purchasing, processing invoices and transfers, and negotiating and contracting with vendors, and participating in budget preparation.
  • Manage projects with several variables, set realistic deadlines, manage a timeline, and ensure accountability.
  • May participate in complex negotiations with current and potential new suppliers.
  • May provide oversight for a key function of the team.
  • Provide input through project teams for the development and implementation of new initiatives or the improvement of existing programs.
  • Travel, which may involve travel outside of their home country, and work flexible hours as needed.
  • Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.
  • Work is diversified and may not always fall under established practices and guidelines.
  • Well-versed and/or can easily obtain the environmental and safety laws, regulations, and rules associated with TNC’s designated assets
  • Work within scope of program’s strategic goals.
