Rainforest Foundation US (RFUS), in partnership with the Global Alliance of Territorial Communities (GATC), is seeking a consultant to produce a comprehensive analysis of how Indigenous Peoples (IPs) and Local Communities (LCs) are defined and recognized in Asian tropical forest countries. This work will directly inform the implementation of the Tropical Forests Forever Facility (TFFF), which guarantees that at least 20% of resources are allocated to IPLCs as part of a broader strategy to support self-determined climate and biodiversity action.
The consultancy aims to explore the historical, legal and political processes that shape IP and LC recognition in the region and offer practical guidance to ensure the inclusive and context-sensitive distribution of the TFFF’s funding.
