Qualifications and Experience

Required qualifications and experience  

– Education: Veterinary degree or MSc required, with a major in environment management or wild animal health, or in social science
– At least 5 years of experience in international environment
– Experience with large network management at international level desirable  Additional experience (asset)  Work at Global-level, in a high-paced working setting and a multicultural setting.

Strong understanding of and commitment to Good Regulatory Practices in science-based organisations.
Experience in wildlife trade international policy Experience in the area of public, animal and environmental health,

Expected Skills

Technical skills  

– Knowledge of wildlife health topic and  on the wildlife-human health interaction and wildlife trade.
– Interest in One Health and biodiversity.
– Comprehensive knowledge of health risk assessment
– Good knowledge of wildlife trade issues pertaining to health risks
– Certification in Project management is an asset
– Microsoft suite, including Teams, Planner, or other project management tools.
– Excellent writing skills.
– Scientific rigour and file management.
– Language skills: English required and one of the other two other WOAH languages (Spanish or French) desirable.

Personal and Interpersonal skills:  

– Excellent communication skills and listening skills, adaptability, relationship-building, cultural awareness, empathy and emotional intelligence.
– Strategic thinking.
– Solution driven and action oriented Conflict resolution, collaboration and diplomacy skills.
