The Gender and Participation Specialist will ensure the integration of gender equality and stakeholder participation into the GEF-UNDP PACA Project, focusing on inclusive marine and coastal ecosystem governance in the Pacific Central American Coastal Large Marine Ecosystem. The role combines strategic planning, capacity-building, stakeholder engagement and policy alignment.
Key Responsibilities

Lead implementation of the Gender Action Plan and Stakeholder Engagement Plan.

Organize training sessions on gender, inclusion, cultural sensitivity and inclusive communication.

Develop inclusive event guidelines, communication strategies and intercultural materials.

Ensure compliance with GEF and UNDP policies on gender, participation and indigenous engagement.

Support development and implementation of the TDA/SAP process alongside the Marine Resources Specialist.

Document and share lessons learned on stakeholder engagement and gender visibility in marine resource management.

Contribute to planning, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of project progress related to gender and participation.
Minimum Requirements

Guatemalan citizen or legal resident.

Master’s degree in social sciences, gender studies, sociology or related field.

Minimum of 7 years’ experience working on gender and participatory development.

Strong background in gender training, interdisciplinary teams and stakeholder processes.

Professional fluency in Spanish and English.

Availability to travel throughout Central America.
