Description

WWF-Singapore is recruiting a Lead, Food System & Market Transformation (FSMT) to drive systemic change toward sustainable, deforestation- and conversion-free (DCF), and regenerative food systems. Reporting to the Director of Climate & Sustainability, the role integrates biodiversity recovery, climate action and sustainable consumption goals through private sector engagement, policy advocacy and innovation.

The role requires technical expertise in food systems and sustainability, leadership in strategic programme management and strong stakeholder engagement across sectors. It also emphasizes innovation, including the use of digital tools and AI to enhance programme design and implementation.

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Programme Management

  • Lead development of FSMT programmes aligned with WWF-SG’s Theory of Change and global nature-positive goals.

  • Scale flagship initiatives in responsible sourcing, circular economy and regenerative agriculture.

  • Manage the FSMT unit, including budgets, timelines and fundraising in collaboration with the partnerships team.

  • Guide team development, performance management and cross-departmental integration.

  • Drive innovation by promoting digital transformation and AI adoption in programme delivery.

Private Sector and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Influence companies to eliminate deforestation from supply chains and adopt sustainable sourcing practices.

  • Organize industry events, roundtables and stakeholder engagement campaigns.

  • Lead fundraising and partnership management for FSMT programme delivery.

  • Develop strategic materials for outreach, communications and investor engagement.

Systems Change & Policy Advocacy

  • Represent WWF in policy dialogue, industry platforms and public forums.

  • Advocate for integration of food systems into Singapore’s climate, biodiversity and land-use policies.

  • Lead campaigns on sustainable diets and food waste reduction.

  • Collaborate with outreach teams to build public awareness and provide sustainability training.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in agriculture, food systems, sustainability, economics, management or related fields.

  • At least 8 years’ experience in food systems, sustainable agriculture or corporate sustainability.

  • Expertise in DCF supply chains, regenerative agriculture and sustainable consumption.

  • Proven experience working with private and public sector stakeholders.

  • Excellent project management, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Familiarity with agri-food standards and digital tools, including AI applications.

  • Singapore citizen or permanent resident.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Knowledge of sustainability standards (ASC, MSC, RSPO, Rainforest Alliance, FSC).

  • Experience in public engagement or behaviour change campaigns.

  • Understanding of international climate and biodiversity policy frameworks.

  • Demonstrated fundraising success.
