Required Skills and Experience

Education:

• Advanced University Degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in agriculture, natural resource management, physical planning, geography, or related fields, or
• A first level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in above mentioned fields in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of an advanced university degree.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years (with master’s degree) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) of progressively responsible relevant experience in agriculture, natural resource management or related fields.
• Hands on experience in agriculture risk assessment, natural resources management, land use planning, sustainable land management work, valuing agrobiodiversity, and agroforestry, including the use of participatory approaches.
• Experience/Demonstrable ability to organize and facilitate teams to achieve stated project objectives.
• Experience in coordination of multi-stakeholder processes.
• Excellent computer skills (key MS Applications) and ability to use information technology as a tool and resource.
• Experience in Displaying cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability.
• Good inter-personal and teamwork skills/experience, networking aptitude, ability to work in multicultural, challenging, but rewarding environment.
• Experience in project management and reporting.
• Experience/Knowledge of procedures and Provincial institutional arrangements aligned with project objectives.

• Excellent command of spoken and written English and Solomon Island Pidgin
