Description

The Sr. Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for administering and maintaining HR systems, programs, procedures, and plans according to HR policies and will provide assistance to all levels of personnel on various HR data related issues and requests.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE

  • Provide excellent customer service and consistently demonstrate professional demeanor, as well as discretion and sensitivity in handling confidential information.
  • Serve as a main point of contact and subject matter expert for payroll tax inquires.
  • Perform and support routine bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax reconciliations and processes.
  • Enter and complete wage and tax corrections in the payroll system.
  • Responsible for managing vendor engagements and holding vendors accountable to high standards.
  • Manage and support resolution to tax assessments, audits, and other legal matters.
  • Maintain knowledge of current federal, state, and local tax legislation, including tax implications of a remote workforce.
  • Complete and submit new registration forms for new state and local tax accounts.
  • Auditing and updating the tax rate tables within the payroll system to ensure accurate and timely withholding and reporting of all tax types.
  • Ensures appropriate third-party sick pay reporting requirements.
  • Verifies and requests final payments for deceased employees.
  • Determine NRAs eligibility for appropriate tax withholding and tax treaty benefits and transmit necessary forms to the IRS.
  • Interpret and advise senior management on complicated federal/state income laws, tax treaties, and regulations.
  • Act independently based on subject matter expertise and escalate issues and unusual problems to supervisor.
  • Perform various audits, keep partners informed through various outreach efforts and improve processes in response to challenging circumstances.
  • Work closely with internal cross functional team and vendors to ensure accurate funding occurs for all accounts, tax remittance, general ledger balancing, and fiscal/calendar year-end deliverables are completed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of all payroll and personnel information by following SOPs to include files and data in electronic, written, and oral forms of information.
  • Identify and drive continuous process improvements consistent with industry best practices.
  • Other ad hoc projects or work as directed by your supervisor.
  • Provides data, reports and analysis as requested.
  • Manages projects according to our policies and protocols.
  • Work virtually and flexibly with hours to accommodate global time zones.
  • Work environment involves infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.
  • Work is diversified and may not always fall under established practices and guidelines.
