In support to the overall objective, IUCN is seeking for a consultant to support the project team in data
collection, analytics, validation, and dissemination of new evidence on FLR being a cost-effective bridge to
achieve simultaneously mitigation and adaptation objectives. The consultant will produce 3 distinct – but
highly synergistic – analyses in support of FLR-based mitigation and adaptation efforts intended for the
international climate community, national and subnational-policy makers, the private sector, and restoration
practitioners: (1) Compile relevant guidance for mitigation estimates and produce a guide on best practices
applicable to FLR approaches for the assessments of national/jurisdictional restoration opportunities;
(2) Carry out a global stocktaking exercise and propose a methodology for identifying global hotspots for
achieving both mitigation and adaptation objectives through FLR; and (3) Showcase the opportunities for
enhanced NDCs’ ambition from FLR implementation within the private sector.
