Description

The Talent Specialist is a partner and subject matter expert for hiring managers and is responsible for supporting and managing all aspects of the recruitment process for the NY Division including the smooth transition of the on-boarding process.   They will bring innovative ideas to build and implement effective, proactive, and efficient recruitment strategies and processes to address the talent in Internship to NY senior level positions.   This includes activities such as reviewing job descriptions and drafting profiles, using the HR Recruitment process and system to post jobs, update applicant status, communicate with applicants, and will provide guidance and information to hiring managers.  They will implement diversity sourcing initiatives in partnership with the Conservancy’s Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion vision, leveraging organizational and social networking sites, and using other recruitment tools and techniques. They will build and maintain a pipeline of qualified, diverse candidates for future opportunities and ensure a positive experience for candidates and hiring managers.

They will partner with managers and supervisors to forecast opportunities for potential candidates.  They will network with colleges and universities and partners to develop pools of candidates and will collaborate to make connections with NY Division opportunities.  They will track progress and build upon successes to develop a strong and robust candidate pools.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE

  • Works to ensure that the NY Division talent goals and strategies are achieved.
  • Review and report on hiring metrics.
  • Acts both independently and with others on tasks and exercises independent judgment based on analysis and experience.
  • Ensures workstreams are moving forward according to timeline and budget.
  • Ensures internal and external partners are supported, prepared, and informed on plans and progress.
  • Works with NY Hiring Managers to manage recruitment processes, including outreach and sourcing to attract diverse candidate pools.
  • Manages and supports the Conservancy’s candidate tracking system.
  • Builds and communicates with internal and external partners and networks.
  • Responds to recruitment and talent related questions.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
