Description

The Donor Communications Manager is primarily responsible for developing and producing communications materials to engage, solicit and steward individual and institutional donors with the capacity to give at the $100,000+ level. They write, edit and produce cases for support, concepts/letters of intent, proposals and reports, presentations, event materials, fact sheets, programmatic updates, and other materials as needed—often under strict deadlines. They support other philanthropic and marketing communication projects, including donor communications needs for the office of Regional Managing Director, including letters, emails, and talking points.

The Donor Communications Manager coordinates deliverables from team members, monitors timelines and communicates progress. They ensure consistency and quality by applying TNC messaging and branding standards and by securing reviews and approvals. They help achieve the philanthropic goals of the AP Philanthropy Team by collaborating closely with other TNC staff—including conservation and philanthropy staff throughout the region—to develop key messages and communication approaches. They may work with consultants, such as designers and printers, to complete projects.

The Donor Communications Manager supports the Director of Donor Communications in developing and implementing pro-active communication strategies to elevate donor awareness of AP country programs, projects, and priority fundraising needs. They also support the Director in coordinating and prioritizing the donor communications needs of multiple business units. They maintain up-to-date knowledge of donor communications tools and practices, apply that knowledge to TNC’s AP fundraising goals, and act as a resource for philanthropy colleagues and those in the field.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE

  • Manage, implement and serve as project lead on assigned communications projects.
  • Responsible and accountable for meeting assigned project goals and objectives.
  • Manage multiple projects at the same time and coordinates teams to meet deadlines.
  • Work independently and resolve issues without requiring detailed management.
  • Travel occasionally, work flexible hours as needed.
  • May work with vendors/other parties to execute projects/deliverables.
