The Parks for People Temporary Program Assistant provides program, project, and event support for The Trust for Public Land’s parks for people program. This position helps plan, execute, and support park project events and engagement. This position will be expected to provide staff support at large outdoor gatherings. Must be willing to work within the standard work week as well as occasional evenings and weekends.

This position is temporary, part time (ranging between 8-20 hours a week depending on programming needs) and pays $20/hour. We anticipate this temporary role will be from June 1-August 31, 2022.

FUNCTIONS

• Assists program staff with event planning, preparation, set up and engagement.
• Conducts administrative office tasks such as coordinating vendors, doing light research, creating event schedules and supply lists.
• Works with program and administrative staff on special events
• Helps plan and conduct community engagement activities, which could include plantings, children’s activities, giveaways, etc…

INTERACTIONS
This position primarily interacts with internal program staff but also interacts with project partners, community members, and outside consultants, such as landscape designers, artists, local businesses, and other event vendors.Boston, Massachusetts
