QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in international development, Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, Indigenous Studies, Social Sciences, Economics, or a related field.
  • 4 to 6 years related work experience in project management, including planning and budgeting, grant reporting, impact assessment and sustainable development or Indigenous community programs, preferably in Latin America.
  • Proven experience in managing multi-country programs, particularly in Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, and Ecuador.
  • Strong background in bioeconomy, Indigenous-led enterprises, and traditional knowledge integration.
  • Experience working with Indigenous organizations, NGOs, government agencies, and international donors.
  • Demonstrated expertise in gender-inclusive economic empowerment, with a focus on Indigenous women’s leadership and market access.
  • Experience in facilitating regional knowledge exchanges and capacity-building programs.
  • Knowledge of policy frameworks related to Indigenous rights, conservation, and sustainable business models in the Amazon region.  
  • Ability to diagnose problems and identify solutions.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Team player and able to work effectively with diverse works groups in a multicultural environment.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in written and spoken Spanish and English.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, set priorities, and deliver quality results.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and under general supervision.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in related fields.
  • Understanding of the economic and environmental issues facing developing countries and the local communities is strongly preferred.
  • Specialized training or coursework in bioeconomy, conservation, Indigenous rights, or gender equity is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Portuguese is highly preferred.
