UNDP Moldova is recruiting a Communications Analyst under the Sweden-funded Dniester II Project, which supports integrated water resources management in the Nistru River Basin. The role focuses on communication, visibility and public outreach related to water governance reform, biodiversity protection and alignment with EU environmental directives.
The Communications Analyst will ensure donor visibility, translate technical outputs into accessible messaging and support public awareness initiatives, particularly the National Awareness Campaign on Water Protection and the Eco-Media Academy.
Job Responsibilities
Communication Planning and Management

Contribute to the development and implementation of the project communication and visibility plan.

Monitor effectiveness of communication activities.

Coordinate communication service providers.

Ensure compliance with UNDP corporate standards and donor requirements.
Media and Visibility
-
Draft press releases, stories, interviews and other visibility materials.

Develop social media content and digital assets.
-
Coordinate media engagement and coverage.

Support video concepts and storytelling initiatives.
Campaigns and Public Outreach

Provide hands-on coordination for the National Awareness Campaign on Water Protection.

Support visibility of the Eco-Media Academy.

Ensure consistent branding and messaging.
Events Communication

Support communication for public events, conferences and awareness activities.

Ensure visibility of UNDP, Sweden and national partners.
Job Requirements
Education
-
Master’s degree in Journalism, Communication, PR, Sociology, International Relations, Environmental Studies or related field.

OR Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience
-
Experience in communication, media, public outreach or visibility.

Experience in environmental communication or public policy communication is desirable.

Familiarity with Moldova’s media landscape is an asset.

Experience with UN or international organizations is an advantage.
Languages

Fluency in English, Romanian and Russian required.

Minority languages such as Bulgarian, Gagauzian, Romani, Ukrainian or sign language are assets.
