The Agriculture Conservation Coordinator provides administrative, research, and project coordination and other general assistance to program staff working toward the achievement of agriculture strategy goals to help producers achieve whole farm success by influencing and motivating implementation of practices that keep farmers farming, reduce climate change risks, and protect our soil and water resources now and into the future. Our strategy centers on influencing Climate Adaptation and Mitigation, Soil Health and Nutrient Management, and Water Management practices and policies that work for all producers. The Agriculture Conservation Coordinator will report to the Ohio Agriculture Director and operates throughout Ohio River and Western Lake Erie Basin watersheds. The starting salary range for this position is $41,300 – $50,000.

The Agriculture Conservation Coordinator may manage data and records, participate in project and field day planning, coordinate and execute contracts, conduct social media outreach, and assist in the production of reports and newsletters, and schedule and conduct trainings with and for farmers and farm advisors. Work will be a combination of in the field (farmer focused field days) and office administration, and compiling the information collected by others.

• Supervises no staff but may oversee and direct work of office volunteers or interns.
• Coordinates multiple tasks or projects in a timely manner and with attention to detail.
• May assist with program budget preparation and monitoring.
• Assist in outreach activities, including social media and newsletters.
• Provide support to Ag program staff and farmer partners on scheduling, outreach, and projects coordination.
• Assist with reporting on projects, grants and budgets.
• May work in variable weather conditions and at remote locations, which may require overnight stays.   
• Makes day to day decisions as delegated by the supervisor.
