Based in Rome, Italy, under the supervision of the Team Leader of the Networks Infrastructure & Security unit, within the Technology Integration department, the Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, designing, implementing, maintaining and innovating the technological solutions supported on the Linux and Windows Server platforms, and their networks. In a nutshell, the Analyst will ensure compliance with institutional standards and policies; maintain excellent customer relations; support ticket management and network infrastructure; and manage the relationship with suppliers.
Responsibilities
More precisely, the Analyst will:
- Work plan development and implementation
- Support the development, monitoring, review, and update of the IT work plan to ensure that the organization attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible
- Analyze, design, implement, maintain and monitor technological solutions according to the organization’s requirements
- Systems, policies and procedures management
- Provide inputs for the development, review, and update of all necessary IT systems, policies and procedures
- Guarantee availability of networks, and of research processing and storage services
- Provide on-site support to local servers, and remote support for those in regional offices (such as the Bioinformatics servers and the Germplasm Information System in Montpellier)
- Support the hardware for the infrastructure of servers and networks
- Design and implement services considering both hardware and software components
- Backup and restore the information through the backup system
- Staff support
- Provide staff with orientation and training to help them understand and use effectively the IT systems, policies and procedures of the organization
- Provide inputs for the identification of the IT capacity strengthening needs of staff
- Issue resolution
- Provide IT expertise and support to help resolve any hardware and software problems for servers
- Provide network troubleshooting and incident management services
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
