As-needed Burn Crew Managers will be members of the North America Fire team and hired for a 6-month maximum term to participate on prescribed burns where tasks will include preparing fire lines, ignition, control, mop-up, suppression, monitoring, equipment maintenance and other tasks.  Burn Crew Managers will be working directly for The Nature Conservancy and partners on moderate complexity burns.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

• Perform tasks under the supervision of the Director of Prescribed Fire Training, or designated Fire Manager.  
• Ensure safe work practices and environment and work as team player.
• Assist with all aspects of prescribed burning. 
• Maintain assigned equipment, accurate records of work time, expenses, etc. and submit reports in a timely manner. 
• Operate ATV’s, UTV’s, tractors, chain saws, leaf blowers, and ability to tow trailers. 
• Ability to perform heavy physical work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain, and under physically demanding circumstances.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
