The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Bahrain, in partnership with the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), is seeking a qualified National Biodiversity Finance Assessment Specialist to lead the national biodiversity expenditure review and financing needs assessment under the Global Biodiversity Finance (BIOFIN) Programme, guided by the latest version of the BIOFIN Workbook.
The specialist will analyze current biodiversity-related expenditures and estimating the biodiversity financial needs and gap across sectors, assess national financing needs to achieve the NBSAP and Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) targets, and produce evidence-based reports to inform Bahrain’s Biodiversity Finance Plan.
Period of assignment/services: The total duration of this consultancy will be no more than 95 days spread over the period 18 months.
Job responsibilities
- The specialist will analyze current biodiversity-related expenditures and estimating the biodiversity financial needs and gap across sectors.
- Assess national financing needs to achieve the NBSAP and Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) targets.
- Produce evidence-based reports to inform Bahrain’s Biodiversity Finance Plan.
