The ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity (ACB), established in 2005, is ASEAN’s response to the challenge of biodiversity loss. It is an intergovernmental organisation that facilitates cooperation and coordination among the 10 ASEAN Member States (AMS), and with regional and international organisations, on the conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity, and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from the use of such natural treasures.

To achieve its mandate, vision, and mission, the ACB Strategic Plan is anchored on two pillars: biodiversity conservation and biodiversity mainstreaming. It is supported by cross-cutting strategies: (a) clearing house mechanism and knowledge management; (b) communication, education and public awareness (CEPA); and (c) capacity development.

The Clearing House Mechanism serves to promote and facilitate technical and scientific cooperation within and between countries; develop a global mechanism for exchanging and integrating information on biodiversity; and develop a human and technological network. Knowledge management on the other hand, compiles and curates data and information that can be analysed and transformed to support effective and targeted CEPA programmes and capacity development strategies. Data and information are derived from AMS’s national reports, national and regional Clearing House Mechanism (CHM) databases and generated from biodiversity information management tools and methodologies. These are then used to craft regional analyses, trends, and tools that increase awareness and knowledge on biodiversity issues.

The ACB is seeking to engage dynamic, innovative and committed candidates for the position of Clearing House Mechanism and Knowledge Management (CHM and KM) Officer. 
The CHM and KM Officer will work with the Biodiversity Information Management (BIM) team and will report and be accountable to the BIM Director.
