The Conservation Coordinator may manage conservation data, conduct and coordinate project due diligence (including ordering and coordinating minerals reports and title work, drafting landowner correspondence, reviewing title work and water rights, and writing memos), develop project packages, respond to landowner inquiries, and maintain project records.  May include collecting, assembling and analyzing various types of data, in the field or through document surveys, producing maps using GIS software and assisting in the production of memos and reports.  Work may be done in the field, preparing baseline documentation reports or environmental hazards assessments, or may consist of compiling the information collected by others.

 

• Supervises no staff but may oversee and direct work of office volunteers or interns.
• Coordinates multiple tasks or projects in a timely manner and with attention to detail.
• Manages project checklists and timelines.
• Performs project due diligence (including coordinating and reviewing title, minerals reports, and water rights searches) drafts project documents, memos, and landowner correspondence for land protection transactions.
• Schedules and coordinates team meetings.
• Conducts research for protection projects and to further protection strategies.
• May conduct fieldwork related to preparing baseline documentation reports or environmental hazards reports and may compile information collected by others.
• May assist with program budget preparation and monitoring.
• May produce maps for protection projects using GIS software.
• The Conservation Coordinator may work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain, and under physically demanding circumstances.
• Makes day to day decisions as delegated by the supervisor.
