Description

At Rainforest Alliance we are looking for a motivated and impact driven Manager, Projects Managers Team (PMT) to join our team In Côte d’Ivoire). The Manager, PMT is responsible for managing Institutions funded sustainable agriculture field projects in Côte d’Ivoire, with a particular focus on Coffee and Cocoa Landscape & Communities (L&C) projects. The position will be responsible for overseeing the design and delivery of new and ongoing projects funded by Institutional partners in Côte d’Ivoire.

The postholder will ensure day-to-day management and technical support across Coffee and Cocoa Landscape &C projects portfolio in Côte d’Ivoire. Specifically, the postholder will ensure projects outcomes, outputs and activities are delivered on time, to a high standard, in line with internal protocols and donor requirements, and builds upon learning and best practices. The Manager, PMT will ensure a proper financial execution and reporting of projects funding. The postholder will also be accountable for maintaining partnership relationships with implementing partners to ensure donors needs and expectations remain aligned with project delivery and field realities. The Manager, PMT will work closely with internal teams, such as Institutional Relations, Global Themes and Partnerships and DMERL (Design, Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning) to support and nurture new funding opportunities in Côte d’Ivoire. The postholder will manage high level internal and external engagements and will proactively identify opportunities for collaborative partnership between the project and external stakeholders.

The Manager, PMT will facilitate documentation and dissemination of lessons learned and promote best practices on successful interventions for rapid scale-up and continuous improvement in the country.

The Manager, PMT will report to the Director, Côte d’Ivoire.
 

Responsibilities: 
 

A.   Project Design and partnerships

-Works closely with Institutional Relations team to track and nurture new relationships with institutional donors interested in opportunities and addressing challenges in Côte d’Ivoire;
-Works closely together with internal team such as Institutional Relations, Global Themes and Partnerships, DMERL to design new Cocoa and Coffee L&C project value propositions and -proposals;
-Engages and coordinates with potential partners – together with relevant Rainforest Alliance departments – for consultation and collaboration on projects in development.

 

B.    Leadership and Project Management

-Supports the sound execution of Projects, accountable for projects implementation, deliverables monitoring and budgetary execution; internal and external communication, preparation of reports and managing relationships with implementing partners, beneficiaries and stakeholders; complying with partners agreements and donor rules, and with Rainforest Alliance internal procedures;
-Engages and coordinates with partners – together with the project manager and relevant Rainforest Alliance departments – for consultation and collaboration of interventions. Uses the project´s –Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) system´s metrics to make adaptive project management decisions;
-Engages and cooperates with main private and public sectors at national levels relating to the project and in close collaboration with the project manager, partners and Rainforest Alliance teams;
-Fosters structures and processes for effective collaboration and sharing of knowledge and capacity within the partners and with all other relevant external stakeholders, at the national, regional and global level;·        
-Assesses, together with the project manager potential risks on the project and coordinates the adoption of appropriate risk mitigation measures to address them;
-Oversees the design and implementation of annual workplans and budgets;
-Manage subgrants for L&C projects and provide administrative and technical support to subgrant partners and build their capacity in project delivery and administration.

 

C.   Communication and Dissemination:

-Together with the project manager, represents the project at key events, presentations, policy forums and roundtables;
-In collaboration with the Communications colleagues and department, develops and disseminates communications materials in the project and beyond;
-Supports Communications colleagues and department by obtaining and providing information on lessons learned, impacts and success stories of projects implemented.

 

D.   Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL)

-In close coordination with Rainforest Alliance’s MEL specialists, develops the project´s MEL Plan, including tools, processes, and responsibilities to track project progress, assess its achievements, address the project´s challenges and risks, and documents its lessons learned;
-Technically supports the design and implementation in each of the project´s target areas of implementation;
-With support from project staff and implementing partners prepares quality and timely project performance technical reports as required by the project´s donors, stakeholders and other -Rainforest Alliance colleagues and departments as may be required;

 

E.    Grant Compliance and other Responsibilities

-Identifies and ensures best practice procedures are adhered to;
-Complies with the Specific and General rules of the donor;
-Complies with the Rainforest Alliance’s Grant and Subgrant Management and Monitoring policy protocols, including the due diligence process;
-Other duties as assigned.
