Description

1. Identify, collect, and process all relevant available data and information (e.g., State of the Environment reports, Multilateral Environmental Agreement reports, national statistics, SDGs indicators, and other proxy indicators and data) useful to produce a robust analysis of main environmental issues and emerging trends to be included in the environmental dimension of CCA reporting.

2. In close coordination with the WESR-CCA’s platform developer (Global Resource Information Database – GRID Geneva) and the Regional Office/Division of Science of UNEP, identify relevant sources of high-quality data; assess and validate their consistency and relevance to the CCA process, and advice on their publication on the WESR-CCA platforms.

3. Based on the data and information gathered through activity 1. above, produce drafts of factsheets, infographics, charts, short papers and other communication material to be published on the WESR-CCA platforms.

4. Perform any other activity related to this consultancy as specified by the hiring manager.

The incumbent will work from home, for a total of 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday normally between the hours of 9:00am and 6:00pm. He is expected to deliver a monthly activity report and invoice, which shall be both duly approved by the UNEP Regional Coordinator of Sub-programme Environment Under Review. The mid and final payment will require an interim and final evaluation duly signed by the Regional Coordinator of the Sub-programme Environment Under Review of UNEP Latin America and the Caribbean Office and Regional Director.
