The Spreadsheet Solutions Specialist will work as part of the Organizational Strategies team within the People Team Business Unit. Our team develops Smartsheet and Excel tools and templates used across The Nature Conservancy for project management, team performance metrics, personal workload management, time reporting, objectives tracking, and other applications. The Spreadsheet Solutions Specialist will help teams use and customize these products with the use of formulas, metric sheets, charts and dashboards. They also work with clients to troubleshoot issues when tools break during client implementation. They may recommend improvements to these tools to prevent user error, make the tools more robust, and deliver requested additional functionality.
The Spreadsheet Solutions Specialist must have advanced spreadsheet knowledge to provide programmatic support and coordinate communications. They will take on additional duties to enhance the work of the team, including, but not limited to, developing documentation, providing recommendations and targeted training related to the functional area of the team, and/or enhancing the systems and tools used by the team. This position requires minimal travel and work flexible hours as needed. The work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.

We are looking for someone who enjoys helping internal clients find solutions to complex business process challenges. You will offer a high level of expertise with spreadsheets and building solutions and integrated systems to meet client needs and helping others use software tools to meet their operational and data needs. The ideal candidate has great analytical skills and ability to solve problems efficiently and creatively. Our team primarily uses Excel and Smartsheet, and while previous experience in Smartsheet is not required, the ability to quickly translate your spreadsheet expertise to Smartsheet is a must. You should be able to listen to the needs of diverse internal clients and translate those needs into thoughtful, creative solutions.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience or equivalent combination.
- Experience with Excel, Smartsheet or equivalent spreadsheet application, including use of formulas
- Experience generating reports and analyzing, charting, and interpreting data.
- Ability to communicate clearly to understand client needs and design spreadsheet solutions.
