Bio: Quincy Augustine is a wildlife biologist pursuing a PhD and has experience in biodiversity monitoring, environmental consulting, and Caribbean ecosystem research.
Technical field(s) of expertise: I hold a Class B driver’s licence and bring extensive technical experience in acoustic monitoring and analysis using tools such as the Wildlife Acoustics Song Meter Mini Bat and Echo Meter Touch 2, along with mist-netting and wildlife handling. My skills include species identification by sight and sound, biological sample collection (blood, tissue, and faeces), and necropsy and disease surveillance, including hantavirus and chytrid fungus. I have strong expertise in environmental and social impact assessments (ESIA/ESMP), GPS/GIS mapping using Garmin and QGIS, and the use of AI tools for species recognition. Additionally, I am proficient in statistical analysis using R, grant review and monitoring (including GEF-SGP projects), and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). I also have experience in science communication and outreach, and I am a certified PADI Open Water diver.
