Biodiversity forms the foundation of ecological resilience and human well-being worldwide. However, escalating threats such as deforestation, climate change, and unsustainable practices jeopardize biodiversity on a global scale. Nowhere is this more evident than in the Amazon region, which not only houses 10% of Earth’s biodiversity but also plays a critical role in global carbon sequestration. The degradation of these ecosystems poses significant risks to both biodiversity and the millions of people who depend on these natural resources for their livelihoods. To counteract these challenges, the Global Biodiversity Alliance proposes a unified and collaborative approach.
