In view of the upcoming International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples (August 9), the Faith for Earth Coalition (UNEP) and the Faiths for Biodiversity Coalition are pleased to invite you to a Dialogue titled: Plural Values and Shared Futures: Indigenous and Faith Contributions to the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
📆Thursday, 7 August 2025
🕒 3:30 pm- 5 pm EAT / 1:30 pm – 3 pm UK / 8:30 am – 10 am EST
📍 Online: Registration link
This event will explore the intersection of religious values, Indigenous worldviews, and biodiversity conversation, drawing on the findings of the IPBES Values Assessment. It will highlight the critical role of Indigenous peoples, local communities, and faith-based organizations in promoting more inclusive, ethical, and culturally grounded approaches to valuing nature.
Through four sessions and interactive breakout discussions, the Dialogue will explore how diverse values of nature can be integrated into biodiversity policymaking. It also aims to co-draft a joint statement by faith communities to guide engagement in the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF), especially in the lead-up to CBD COP 17.
