The National Ecosystem Assessment (NEA) Initiative at UNEP-WCMC supports countries to undertake national ecosystem assessments and integrate their findings into policy and decision-making. These assessments often contribute to the establishment or strengthening of National Biodiversity Platforms (NBPs), which act as key interfaces between knowledge holders and policy actors.
The objectives of this webinar are: – Share practical recommendations developed by the NEA Initiative to help national teams reflect on and strengthen the sustainability of their NBPs. – Present examples from national platforms that have taken steps to align objectives, institutional arrangements, inclusive processes, and funding strategies. – Facilitate peer exchange on how these recommendations might support the development or refinement of sustainability strategies in different national contexts.
This webinar is organized by the NEA Initiative at UNEP-WCMC, as part of the Sub-Global Assessment Network (SGAN) and is relevant to coordinators and members of NBPs, practitioners and experts in the fields of biodiversity and ecosystem services, as well as policymakers, researchers, civil society representatives, and media professionals interested in these topics.
