People, Cities & Nature – New Zealand is hosting a webinar introducing the New Zealand Biodiversity Factor, a suite of assessment tools designed to measure and score the biodiversity value of backyards, residential developments, buildings and commercial properties.
The session will explore how biodiversity measurement can guide planning decisions, compare pre- and post-development outcomes and support a shift from biodiversity loss to biodiversity gain in urban environments. Presenters Professor Yolanda van Heezik and PhD candidate Jacqui Theis from the University of Otago will share insights from urban ecology research and practical applications for inclusive, biodiversity-friendly urban design.
