Organized by the Loss and Damage joint working group of PEDRR and FEBA, this interactive session will explore approaches to addressing irreversible losses of biodiversity and ecosystem services. The webinar will highlight field-based evidence and practical examples of Nature-based Solutions (NbS), examining where these approaches are delivering results, where challenges remain, and how they can be strengthened and scaled.
The session will centre perspectives from frontline communities, offering insights into how ecological and cultural connections shape vulnerability and resilience. It will also consider how ecosystem-based approaches can be better integrated into global mechanisms such as the Warsaw International Mechanism (WIM), the Santiago Network, and the Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage (FRLD).
Participants will engage with practical experiences, reflect on lessons learned, and identify opportunities to advance ecosystem action within climate and disaster response frameworks. A recording will be made available after the event.
