As part of the Thirteenth Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development, this plenary session will launch the 2026 SDG Partnership Report titled “Inclusive Urban Futures: From Inequality to Opportunity.” The event will examine transformative and coordinated actions to accelerate progress on the 2030 Agenda, with a particular focus on SDG 11 on Sustainable Cities and Communities.
The session will address widening urban inequalities across Asia and the Pacific, where cities generate the majority of regional GDP but continue to face challenges related to housing, services, climate vulnerability and unequal access to opportunity. It will highlight promising policies and locally adapted solutions that promote inclusive and sustainable urban development.
The event will convene Member States, United Nations agencies, multilateral development banks, private sector representatives, research institutions and civil society. Speakers include senior government officials, development leaders and sustainability experts from across the region.
