The Society for Ecological Restoration Africa, in collaboration with Wetlands International Eastern Africa and the Sahel Office, is hosting a webinar on innovative approaches to wetland restoration and conservation across Africa.
The session will explore how wetlands sustain biodiversity, support livelihoods and strengthen climate resilience. Speakers will share practical tools, regional experiences and large-scale restoration initiatives, highlighting how restoration science translates into policy impact and on-the-ground implementation.
The webinar will feature Douglas Macfarlane, Director of Eco-Pulse Consulting and Board Member of SER Africa, alongside Dr Julie Mulonga, Director for Eastern Africa at Wetlands International, and Mori Diallo, wetland and conservation specialist with Wetlands International Sahel Office. Together, they will present perspectives on restoration practice, climate adaptation, integrated water resource management and community engagement across diverse African contexts.
