With the aim of strengthening science-policy-practice interfaces, the UNESCO’s Local and Indigenous Knowledge Systems (LINKS) Programme in collaboration with the Capacity Development for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Experts (CABES) delivered a two-day online course on Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities in Science-Policy-Practice Interfaces in Africa. This course aimed to raise awareness and build capacity regarding the importance of engaging Indigenous Peoples and local communities in science-policy-practice interfaces. The course featured presentations from Indigenous and local knowledge holders and experts, highlighting how Indigenous and local knowledge enhances our understanding of biodiversity, guides conservation efforts, and shapes policies.
