The International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) is hosting a webinar on forest carbon dynamics and silvicultural practices, exploring their roles in climate change mitigation across different regions and management contexts.
Organised by the IUFRO Task Force on the Interaction and Synergy of Carbon “3S” (Sink, Storage and Substitution) in Forest Value Chains, the session will examine additional carbon removal, emission reductions from improved forest management and restoration, and the contribution of forest-based products to substitution effects. Presentations will draw on experiences from Europe, Brazil and the United States, highlighting both policy and practical perspectives.
