The Society for Ecological Restoration (SER) is hosting a live faculty webinar introducing Foundations of Restoration Ecology, a new online learning programme designed to strengthen the scientific foundations of standards-based ecological restoration.
During the session, faculty contributors will present the course structure, key topic areas and learning objectives, and discuss how the programme supports restoration practitioners across different career stages and disciplines. Participants will gain an overview of ecological concepts covered throughout the curriculum and their application to restoration planning, implementation and evaluation.
The webinar will introduce two learning pathways:
- A self-paced Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) series offered in three parts, covering introductory concepts, individuals and populations, and ecosystem-level processes.
- A virtual, accredited upper-division cohort course offered through the University of Montana for three academic credits, featuring faculty-led discussions and graded coursework.
The event is intended for restoration practitioners, students, researchers and professionals interested in developing their knowledge and skills in ecological restoration.
