The National Ecosystem Assessment Initiative of the UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC), in collaboration with the Botswana University of Agriculture & Natural Resources and Botswana’s Department of Environmental Protection, is organizing a webinar to present the Botswana National Ecosystem Assessment.
The webinar will provide an overview of the assessment’s scope, methodology, stakeholder engagement process, key findings and policy-relevant messages. It will present evidence on biodiversity, ecosystem services, drivers of change and their implications for people, while highlighting the role of Traditional and Local Knowledge and community participation throughout the assessment process.
The session will also explore how the assessment’s findings can inform national planning, implementation and decision-making, and discuss opportunities for their dissemination and uptake.
