The Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network (TERN) is hosting a webinar exploring the challenges and opportunities of communicating ecological science to broader audiences. Titled “Who Gets to Tell the Story? The Challenges and Opportunities for Ensuring the Science Gets Heard,” the session will examine how scientific research reaches the public, policymakers, conservation organizations and other researchers.
The webinar will feature speakers representing different parts of the science communication landscape, including a science broadcaster, a conservation scientist and science communicator, and the director of a media organization that connects journalists with environmental experts. Discussions will explore the incentives, biases and trade-offs that shape nature communication, as well as practical approaches researchers can use to increase the reach and impact of their work.
The event is intended for researchers, practitioners, science communicators, conservation professionals and others interested in improving the communication of environmental science.
