The Global Mangrove Alliance will launch the State of the World’s Mangroves 2026 report, which brings together insights from more than 30 countries, 40 years of mangrove mapping data, and contributions from partners and practitioners working on mangrove conservation and management.
The webinar will present findings on the current status of global mangrove coverage, including trends in mangrove degradation and their implications for nature and people. It will also feature discussions with experts and practitioners on long-term mangrove data, current conservation efforts, and experiences from those implementing mangrove-related initiatives.
The event will feature speakers including Louisa Chinyavu, Regional Programme Manager at Wetlands International Eastern Africa, as well as Mark Spalding, Marice Leal, Lanie Esch, Pete Bunting, and Raul Carvajal Mata.
