The Global Youth Movement for Water (GYMW) and UN Major Group for Children and Youth (UNMGCY) will hold the second session of their Capacity Development Series towards the 2026 United Nations Water Conference. The session is co-led by the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD).
Focusing on the theme “Water for Planet,” the webinar will explore how nature-based solutions can support water management while protecting and restoring aquatic ecosystems. It will examine approaches including wetland restoration, watershed conservation, urban green infrastructure and ecosystem-based measures to improve water quality, reduce flood risks and strengthen climate resilience.
The session is designed to equip young people with knowledge and tools to contribute to global water action. It will also highlight opportunities for young professionals and youth-led organizations to engage in the design, implementation and advocacy of nature-based solutions in their communities.
