The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) will convene the Global Conference for Actions on One Health in Agrifood Systems to advance the practical application of the One Health approach across agrifood systems.
The conference will bring together government representatives, technical experts, international organizations, development partners, researchers and other stakeholders to explore how integrated approaches can strengthen the health of people, animals, plants and ecosystems while improving food security and the resilience of agrifood systems.
Discussions will focus on integrating One Health into agrifood policies and investments, strengthening collaboration across agriculture, environment, health and finance sectors, promoting science, innovation and local knowledge, and mobilizing partnerships to support implementation. The programme will also examine responses to interconnected challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, emerging diseases, antimicrobial resistance, food safety risks and environmental degradation.
Expected outcomes include a shared global vision and priority actions for implementing the One Health in Agrifood Systems Framework, identification of investment opportunities to support country-level implementation and the launch of the One Health Knowledge and Intelligence Hub.
