Organized by CIFOR-ICRAF, this event will mark the launch of the Sustainable Use of Wild Species Transformative Partnership Platform (SU-TPP). The session will explore how wild species are used across different regional contexts in Latin America, Africa, and Asia, and what sustainable use means in practice.
Through a panel discussion, speakers will examine key challenges and opportunities related to governance, markets, Indigenous rights, and knowledge systems, highlighting the importance of aligning research, policy, and practice. The event will also contribute to ongoing dialogue around Targets 5 and 9 of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, focusing on the sustainable, equitable, and safe use of wild species.
