The Global Environment Facility (GEF) will hold this featured side event at UNCCD COP17 to explore how data, reporting and GEF-supported initiatives can help countries advance Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN).
The session will examine operational synergies across key GEF investments, including the UNCCD Global Support Programme, Trends.Earth by Conservation International, FAO’s reporting pilot and land governance projects, and UNDP’s LDN decision support work. Together, these initiatives cover areas ranging from data generation and methodological innovation to reporting support, policy integration and governance reform.
Through short project presentations, a panel discussion and country perspectives, participants will explore practical ways to combine tools, address remaining gaps and strengthen coordination across agencies to support UNCCD reporting and the achievement of LDN.
