The Foundation for Environmental Education is holding Meet the Pollinators, a one-hour online event on 18 November 2026. It is the first event in the lead-up to the 2027 Global Action Days campaign, Pollinate for Life.
The event will look at the role of pollinators in supporting biodiversity, healthy ecosystems and food production. Topics include butterflies, bats, seed dispersal, food systems and habitat restoration. Speakers working to protect pollinators and the ecosystems they support will share their work and discuss how people can take action. The event is open to educators, students, environmental practitioners and anyone interested in nature.
Speaker: Dave Goulson, Professor at the University of Sussex, is a biologist and conservationist specializing in the ecology and conservation of insects, particularly bumblebees. His research looks at the role of pollinators in ecosystems, the threats they face and how they can be better protected. He is the author of books including A Sting in the Tale, The Garden Jungle and Silent Earth.
