The African Union Commission will host the inaugural Africa Biodiversity Summit to elevate political leadership and coordinated action on biodiversity across the continent. The Summit will provide a platform for high-level dialogue among Heads of State, Ministers, and technical experts, focusing on four key themes: biodiversity for socio-economic development, governance, financing, and Africa’s role in global biodiversity processes.
Structured around summit, ministerial, and technical segments, the event aims to strengthen partnerships, mobilize resources, and shape Africa’s unified contributions to global biodiversity negotiations. It will culminate in the adoption of the Africa Biodiversity Summit Declaration, outlining the continent’s shared priorities and commitments.
