The Society for Ecological Restoration (SER) is organizing a webinar on strategies for integrating nature-based solutions into the restoration of contaminated and brownfield sites.
The session will examine how climate change, invasive species and changing site conditions influence restoration planning and implementation. Through case studies, presenters Jen Lyndall and Denise Piechnik will explore practical approaches to increasing resilience, including adaptive design, habitat diversification, planning for future sea level scenarios, floating wetlands, vegetated buffers and long-term adaptive management.
Participants will gain practical guidance on designing restoration projects that remain flexible and effective under changing environmental conditions, from planning through implementation and long-term stewardship. A post-webinar discussion with participants will be held if time permits.
